With over 40% of the state's population living in areas with severe mental health provider shortages, innovative solutions are needed to address this critical issue. Montana's Rural Mental Health Landscape: The state's expansive geography and sparse population make it challenging to deliver mental health services. To address this, the Montana Teletherapy Initiative will provide funding for organizations that implement teletherapy programs, expanding access to mental health support. Who Can Benefit from Montana's Teletherapy Funding? Rural communities and organizations serving isolated residents are eligible to apply. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate experience providing mental health services and a plan for integrating teletherapy into their existing infrastructure. Unlike neighboring Idaho, Montana requires teletherapy providers to comply with the state's specific licensure requirements.
