Research institutions must tie proposed monitoring protocols to these specific distances and the limited broadband infrastructure serving 23 percent of households in counties east of the Continental Divide.
Implementation requires investigators to partner with the Montana Telehealth Alliance and existing Indian Health Service facilities on the Crow and Northern Cheyenne reservations. Protocols must document how remote symptom tracking will interface with the state's limited number of licensed advanced practice nurses, currently 38 per 100,000 residents outside the Billings and Missoula urban centers.
